We are the hands and feet of Jesus!
“When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.” ~ Romans 12:13
It’s an inspiring connection to reach out to our community in local, national and global missions. We combine a modern, local, needs-based community servant-giver approach with a traditional, proven ministry focus through Men on Mission (MoM), Women on Mission (WoM), Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) ministry.
We welcome you to join us for any of these ministries or to encourage new ideas.
Ministry Projects:
On the 3rd Wednesdays we have a church-wide Supper and Mission Focus Presentation at 6:15 PM: Both MoM and WoM work together to bring a monthly Wednesday supper and a missions presentation of our local ministries.
Backpack Program: Our WoM has partnered with Sue Cleveland Elementary to share much needed food items for 2 weekends per month to more than 50 children. There is a collection pantry next to the Howard Room where you can provide pop-tarts, breakfast bars, apple sauce, ravioli, mac-n-cheese or fruit cups. Volunteers may also serve to package the food or deliver them twice per month.
Harvest Hope and PERC: Once a month (day & date TBD). Join our MoM to provide manpower to pick up grocery boxes from Harvest Hope and deliver them to PERC for distribution to more 100 families per week. THURSDAYS at 4:00 PM, Men and Women and teens also help to “present” PERC groceries to the community in a “drive-thru” style delivery to families and their cars.
Home with a Heart: Men’s Transition Ministry 8:30 AM 1st MONDAYS of each month. You are invited to come alongside these men, even for a morning to pray, encourage and share God’s love with them.
Joyful Quilters: Beginner and Advanced quilters – To be determined
We pray together, learn quilting techniques and patterns together and serve together making ministry quilts. We make baby prayer quilts and crocheted blankets for the babies and new moms at Piedmont Women’s Center on a regular basis. We present prayer quilts, specifically designed for our Assisted Living friends and family and those who may be going through a serious surgery or a great celebration.
Women’s Circles
Circle of Love – Morning Group: 1st Wednesdays of each month at 11:00 AM. We meet in the Howard Room once per month. All ladies are welcome to join us and often we find new or life-long friendships in these groups.
Circle of Joy – Evening Group: To be determined
